Looking at longevity of objects, what materials, and design styles would be used for an object that can be passed down for generations and could have lived 100 years ago, as well as 100 years in the future? The Heirloom Knife made from natural materials and a mixture of traditional Chinese knife designs as well as modern forms explores the purpose of objects made to be passed down through generations.

Design an heirloom based off an object critical to personal heritage using only traditional materials and traditional technologies.
Parameter: A knife made from walnut wood and stainless steel that fits in the palm of a hand with minimalistic mechanisms.
